6 Filipino Bloggers You Need to Follow on Instagram

The blogging sphere has grown to become quite saturated, as much as we choose to ignore it. There are so many people blogging in this day and age, and the content these people produce can sometimes be far too similar and repetitive. Beyond the mainstream names however, lie many hidden creatives. These people create content not for others, but for themselves. They show us that creative and genuine expression does not require the best equipment or the most professional abilities, but a mere desire for release and a thirst for something different.

In lieu of binging your netflix series, why not take the time to check them out? They’re original, witty, and let’s not forget, stylish. But you know what the best part is? They all hail from sunny Manila, Philippines. Check out our favorites below.

1. Renee de Guzman (@reneeedg)

Renee is currently in Singapore taking up a degree in fashion design. Her style is a unique amalgamation of masculinity and femininity, without one overpowering the other. She continues to navigate her way through the fashion scene, all while experimenting and allowing her style to evolve. She also goes by the name Hat Queen, by the way.

2. Melissa Gatchalian (@sartorialpanda)

She’s not only a full-time web/graphic designer, she’s also a part-time blogger with a penchant for minimalism. Both Melissa’s Instagram and blog are very aesthetically pleasing, with most of the photographs being shot on location. Melissa’s sense of style is simple; she unafraid of color, which is rare in the sartorial world that clings close to neutrality.

3. Bea Marin (@beamarinx)

In the midst of finishing up her degree, Bea incessantly inspires many to be themselves. Her Instagram feed is composed of well-edited photographs accompanied by outfits just as ravishing. Albeit she seems to be fond of very clean-cut and classic pieces, she also makes sure to incorporate trendy ones into her looks.

4. Jeline Catt (@jelinecatt)

Since completing her degree at Raffles Design Institute Manila, Jeline has continued to share her adventures, whether grand or trivial. Her Instagram feed’s not the only thing she has curated, but her wardrobe too. While her clothing pieces per se may be very on-trend, she styles them in a way that is different, and undeniably her.

5. Alithea Castillo (@alitheacastillo)

This New York-based blogger is definitely not one to miss. Alithea has become a pro at layering since coming to the city early last year. Her style is made up of many basics, which she likes to elevate with accessories that are nothing but stunning. Her favorites? A hat and a pair of sunglasses. She reminds us that while trends do come and go, style is in fact, eternal.

6. Ida Anduyan (@idaandu)

Her being frequently updated on fashion trends is frankly enough of a reason to follow her. There’s more however: she is an avid fan of channeling her inner retro chic. Be careful as you scroll through her Instagram feed though, because you’ll end up obsessing over three things: graphics, gingham, and Gucci.
